A perfect overnight stopping point for anyone walking The Ridgeway. It's less than 1 mile off the trail. Both toilets were very clean and well maintained, along with the sinks. I packed my own toilet paper by a previous visitor had left a roll behind. Owner was easy to get hold of if need be and happy for me to pitch with flexibility.A very quiet area, although a minor road runs past the main gate. If there was a shower, I'd have given 5 stars. But I'd still stay again and recommend it to backpackers.
Nice quiet field with woodland to the back and a stable with beautiful horses next door. Two toilets - clean/new facilities but no toilet paper (as it says on website) and the lights didnt work when we were there. One washing up sink - could do with one more. The Old Swan pub is a short walk away through the woods and serves high quality food. Colin, the owner, let us store our bikes in his barn. He is on site most of the time but keeps to himself. Would stay again.
The site itself was basic but very nice, the 2 toilets and one sink for washing up were very clean although there is no light and no toilet roll provided so you just need to remember to take some.Unfortunately on the night we stayed there was an altercation between the owner of the site and some guests and the way it was handled scared us, our children and other campers. This greatly affected our enjoyment of the stay and is the basis for the low rating I've given (without this it would have rated much higher).Hopefully this was a one off.
A peaceful site. Fantastic clean toilet block. Great value. Colin who runs it: great bloke. Defo using this campsite again.
It's a field - does the job. Good toilet/washing up facilities if you camp overnight and surrounded by good public pathway walks. Nearby Old Swan is great for outdoor seating
